Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers

Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers

Published by Business Plus, Hachette Book Group

At the rate business is changing these days, you’re either changing with it or getting passed by the competition.  We need to see the world of our industry through perpetually fresh eyes and always be asking “Why?”

This is an activity based workshop that improves efficiency and increases team buy-in on company processes.

Exercise Overview

1 Lecture (10 minutes)   |   “Can You Tell Me Why?

A recap of the article, and a conversation around the importance of questioning the reasoning for everything you (and your company) does, “because it’s always been done that way”.

2 Group Exercise (30 minutes)  |  “Does it Moo?”

A group exercise where we evaluate the positive (or not) impact of all our current activity.  By running all our current activity through a 9 question vetting process, we improve efficiency and/or recommit to the importance of aspects of our daily routines.

3 Solo Assignment (5 minutes)   |   “Letting Go”

Change is hard for a lot of people.  The sheer “newness” of it is tough for some people to accept.  By defining and reconnecting to our core purpose (both as a team and as individual members of that team) we can understand the reasons for change, making the process that much easier.

Key Deliverables

Staff members completing this workshop will be reinvigorated to the purpose of their work, and the processes needed to get there.  As a team you will “trim the fat” on your current processes and procedures, improving efficiency and moral.

This 45 minute workshop requires no additional materials beyond the standard Pen, Paper, Whiteboard and Markers.  This is a stand alone workshop, and no additional followup work is required.
