Motivation 3.0

Self Management

Drive

Drive

Published by Riverhead

Successful teams in the 21st century move faster than the speed of the manager.  Successful teams are comprised of autonomous, passionate, self-motivated individuals; each working on their own projects, each project furthering collective team goals.

This team-activity based workshop works well with sales organizations, and teams that are (currently) motivated through the use of “carrot/stick” incentives.

Exercise Overview

1 Lecture (10 minutes)   |   “The Third Drive”

A recap of the article, as well as a fairly direct statement that, as a team, we need to be thinking and acting beyond the training manual.

2 Group Exercise (20 minutes)  |  “Taking Stock”

Through this group exercise, we will evaluate the teams’ “standard” tasks as to whether they should be more systematized or, if they’re more customer-centric, should be less systematized.

3 Group Discussion (15 minutes)   |   “The 1, 2 and 3 of Motivation 3.0″

A discussion to answer the question: “How do we motivate ourselves properly in our tasks?”

4 Wrap Up (10 minutes)   |  “With Great Power…”

Accountability is a key part of more freedom in how we complete our tasks.  A quick planning session for how the team will hold themselves accountable to their deliverables.

Key Deliverables

Staff members completing this workshop will have a clear sense of what they should be working on, the most effective way to work on it, and the impact they have as a result of a job well done.

This 55 minute workshop requires no additional materials beyond the standard Pen, Paper, Whiteboard and Markers.  This is a standalone workshop, and no additional follow up work is required.
