The Radical Edge

The Radical Edge

Published by Kaplan

Being a part of lasting change in the world is really a matter of defining A) The “frame” that is that world, B) What – specifically – you want to change and C) How you are best suited to change it.

This exercise guides participants through the process of defining their world, identifying an opportunity or need for change, and thinking through their unique skill sets for addressing that change.

Exercise Overview

1 Lecture (10 minutes)   |   “The Framework”

A recap of the article, and brief discussion on setting parameters for trying new endeavors.

2 Solo Exercise (15 minutes)  |  “The Pragmatic Superhero”

When you want to create change, you need to define what that change looks like.  This exercise walks through defining “the world” in which the change needs to take place, and what it would look like after that change takes place.

3 Solo Exercise (15 minutes)   |   “Your Frequency”

Our values drive much of what we do and how we do it.  A “Frequency” is the summation of all our values; an umbrella under which we operate at all times.  We work towards defining our frequencies in this exercise.

4 Wrap Up (5 minutes)   |  “Tying it all Together”

Discussion on the previous exercises, the supporting article and how they work together to improve our ability to create positive change.

Key Deliverables

Staff members completing this workshop will be empowered with a sense of purpose in the specific change they want to see in the world, and their unique ability to create it.  This is a personal development exercise that benefits employees personally most directly.  Loyalty and passion for company objectives increase as a result of managers encouraging personal passions.

This 45 minute workshop requires no additional materials beyond the standard Pen, Paper, Whiteboard and Markers.  This is a stand alone workshop, and no additional followup work is required.
